CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

New Children’s Church

The centerpiece of our renewed focus on children’s ministry is the Children’s Sermon. The 11 AM worship service has embraced this new ministry as a regular part of Sunday morning worship. The young and young at heart, gather in the center of the sanctuary to hear Pastor Robin, Deaconess Darlene or a guest speaker, retell one of that morning’s scriptures in a dramatic story format. All are encouraged to play a part and contribute to the conversation. The kids, of course, often come up with the best, unscripted answers, offering us all a good chuckle or giving us adults pause. Once the children’s sermon is over, the kids go to Children’s Church in the chapel where an adult volunteer imparts a lesson and corresponding craft. It’s a great time for the kids to unwind, get to know one another and talk more about how they see God working in their lives. If you have children, grandchildren, family or friends with kids, please invite them to the 11 AM service where kids’ participation is a big part of the worship experience for us all. Additionally, if you would like to volunteer to give the children’s sermon and/or the children’s church lesson & craft time, please email Pastor Robin and GMF Kristi at robin@archstreetumc.org and kristi@archstreetumc.org
